Knit Craze

Here are some more images from the shoot with Jess.
My favorite part of winter is being able to layer up and embrace knit wear-
Nothing better than being overtaken by a load of wool.

I've already got another crazy shoot idea up my sleeve! Cant wait to pull it together!
Hope you guys are having a great week!

Seems like all my friends are models in hiding. Jess was a perfect match for this romantic knitwear shoot. With the days getting shorter and the skies staying a bit more grey, I wanted to steer clear of dark colors like black and keep the colors lively and full of life. The best way to turn a depressing day is to put something peppy on.
This skirt is part of the Marie-Louise "Wild Card" Collection I presented about a month ago. You can see the rest of the pieces here

In for the Kill

This is the season for ankle boots, brown leather, heavy weight scarves and bohemian layers.
Mixing feminine touches with masculine items has always been something that defines my style. I love feeling tough and strong but still finding ways to embrace my femininity. These boots are ideal for masculine structure while this little bodycon dress keeps things curving.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Growing Pains

The symbolism in this pendant is just wonderful. I'm not a girl with a shelf overflowing with accessories because Id rather have a few things that have meaning. A couple rings, a few earrings, a staple pendant and then a few fun pieces are really all I need.

This blazer could easily make a1X3 segment soon with how universal it is.
I can't wait till the dead of winter when I can pair it with a heavy knit sweater underneath and some knee high boots. As the season moves along..I might just have to add some elbow circles to this blazer as I did to this sweater. Love that look!

Been working on a lot of side projects- cant wait to share!!
Don't forget to check over at ProvidenceStyle- lots of updates and an event posting is coming soon!
Hope you've all had a lovely weekend!

Shifting [Transitional Style Series]

OUTFIT 1: By Corpus sweater, h&m zip dress, vintage purse, chelsea lace up boots
OUTFIT 2: By corpus sweater, Marie-Louise scarf, Marie-Louise purse, target dress, BCBG studded belt, chelsea boots

Some things come and go with the seasons but there are some pieces that can make the transition seamlessly. A chunky knit sweater is a great piece to throw on when the nights get a bit chilly or to layer on when the weather gets seriously nippy. This By Corpus sweater, as well as these Chelsea boots, cant be outmatched  by the seasons. Got any year round staples?

When the sun shines

I love looking at menswear for inspiration.. not for guys but for myself!
The elbow patches that have been popping up on mens blazers are the perfect DIY project. First victim: this Gina Tricot sweater, next up: every blazer and blouse in my closet. Alright, maybe thats an overstatement but this trend cant be anything but a staple in my winter closet.

This weekend has been so lovely. The suns been shinning and Providence has been crawling with fashionistas.  To start showcasing all things fashion in Providence I  just LAUNCHED ProvidenceStyle! Check it out!!

Chic Escapes

colder weather

This weather's been pretty dull lately, so Ive decided to scope out some good inspiration and embrace the change.
Low ankle boots are perfect for drudging around the rain in and big carry-alls are a must when you've got to latch onto an umbrella to keep from being frizzled on!

Stay dry fashionistas!

Basic Space

Its getting colder but its not time to break out the heavy knit sweaters and scarves, so we're stuck in this Fall limbo. Fun tights and medium weight jackets are essential to making some of my summer pieces, which Im not ready to let go of yet, work well into October.
Remember the shorts here?

Hope your week is off to a great start- I know mine is!

Rubios Awake

When life seems a bit grey, nothings seems to work better than brighten things up with a bit of color and sparkle. Topping things off with my favorite bright is like a ray of sunshine.
Red adds a bit of extra energy when coffee just doesn't do the trick. I found a great solution to this weeks grey haze that hovered over Providence with this vintage Autograph blouse and f21 pink stone bracelet.
