IVANAhelsinki is a Finnish line led by a sister act, Paola and Pirjo Suhonen. Paola is the designer who draws upon the romance she finds in Finland’s epically lit summers and consuming dark winters to design pieces for those who are nomadic at heart. She designs with a Slavic mood and Finnish roots.

Started ten years ago, IVANAhelsinki has gone international, being the only Scandinavian line to be included in Paris Fashion Week’s “In” show list. The pieces have resonated with their mix of romance and an underlying harder edge. This past year, they had a sucessful pop-up venue in NYC, that hosted various urban culture events. IVANAhelsinki seems less like an ordinary clothing line and more like an exemplification of the lifestyle that surrounds the pieces. Their website is quite clear at portraying their vibe.

They will be showing at Copenhagen Fashion Week on August 13th. Ive got some surprises up my sleeve about fashion week but we'll wait till August for those!
