Love and Hate

I cant believe semester's almost over- it has gone by incredibly quickly!
Today I pulled out my little creation- It used to be a sweater dress but I chopped the bottom half off and cut out the circles. The reactions I got ranged between loving it to hating it.. all I know is that I had fun making it and giving it a try.
Had my final crit today- its so nice to see all of my photos up together..feeling complete. Off to the show's opening tonight..but first things first- catching the last bit of the nice weather :)

My life has been nothing but photography, fashion, and good people the past 48 hours. :)

Its that time of year where we have to switch our mentality from layering to simpler things... Its the first time Ive worn this dress without tights and a blouse under. its getting warm, warmer, hot and HOTTER! oh summertime!! its almost here!

La Moda del Noche

My first night time post AND my first real close up! Spend the night eating good food and celebrating with good people. I just always love a good excuse to dress up and put some heels on. This is one of my favorite dresses right now because its really versatile-I can wear it day or night.
Ive also been on a two month hunt so far looking for a good ring. I want silver, chunky, and preferably one that extends over my knuckle..but I made do with a couple from TJMaxx.
and I always comment on the weather but I just cant help it- its 90 today!!

Spring Fever

So i have all these dresses for certain occasions and there never seems to be another occasion where i can re-wear them..so i decided that i am just going to wear them! Yeah I had an 8:30 class this morning and yeah I might have been a little over dressed..but whats the point of looking like everyone else? And I ended up being perfectly dressed for dinner tonight at Cuban revolution.
oh. life is so good. I hope you feel it too.

Small City Big Pants

Oh rain.. I think Providence must be lacking vitamin D! To deal with the wetness today I tied up the bottom of my pants like some cartoon character in Aladdin (even though ive never seen it..). only to come across some ridiculous cartoon graffiti today on the other side of Providence.

My Handywork

From start to finish..design to patterns to finished product. I hope you can see the string detail- they are in the front and in the back. They actually hang off the dress- I was inspired by feminine/hard edges/warrior/strength... and the hood is for the excessive amount of rain that Denmark is plagued with. I took a fashion design course while I was abroad last semester and this was one of my creations! I will have to get the other one up on here eventually.
And I wanted to specially thank all of you who have started to comment- I really appreciate the feedback!

Nobody's Home

Out and about downtown today- It is such a breather getting off campus and actually seeing people with great style. I got some inspiration so we'll see what I come up with next ;) One thing about fashion right now- there is so much freedom! Everyone's personal style is free to be expressed and the more unique, the better! So- be yourself!

Mental Detox

Im back from my little St. Crox adventure! I got some much needed sun and a mental break. Summer time (or at least summer weather) is my element- anything to do with a swim suit really.. Items in a summer outfit? swim suit and if you want..something on top like shorts, skirts, tshirts, tanks and my all time favorite- dresses! I think it embodies what I like most in fashion- simple beauty. Less can be so much more.
The shorts are actually cut offs from some old jeans I had. I chopped them up the night before I left so I didnt have enough to really play around with them but Im hoping to use that cheese grater a bit more- im dying for some extremely destroyed jean shorts like these.
Here's to summer dreams..

Thug Celebration

We were off exploring- our first beach trip of the season for my papa's birthday. We hunted down a grill (an extremely long process to the distress of my tummy) and made a delicious meal! I was able to debut my favorite summer accessory- sunglasses! This season sunglasses are really up to each person. There are so many styles that whatever you like- work it!
These Aldo boots have seen a lot- and Ive seen them a lot over the past season, so to give them a new face I folded them down and turned them into the perfect spring boots! They're again my shoes of choice.
Unfortunately it was still to cold today to bare all and jump in..

Flashback

Bringing back. I have to say I never like to exactly follow the latest trends (just be inspired) but I love the edgy look that is happening now. Leather jackets, studded belts, dark nails, neon colors...All these things that I loved back in high school except they were not really considered the main stream thing to wear. So my little challenge to all of you out there- pick a few things that you loved about your past (fashion wise or other..) and bring it back to life! I enjoyed my little retrospective experience today :)
